What We Do

Kiwanian Phil Hill, right, presents a $331 check to Mark Blakeley from Wylie High School Mentor’s Care program. Mentor’s Care provides a safe place to do homework and purchase snacks for the students.
Kiwanis Club of Greater Abilene sponsors the Hardin-Simmons University CKI Club. Club President Ross Stevens (left) and member Gavin Mouat (right) attended the CKI District Convention. Ross also received a $1,000 Scholarship from the Kiwanis Club of Greater Abilene.

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Abilene supports Stafford Elementary School students during BUGS (Bring Up Grades). Students who bring up grades will have their name go into a drawing for scooters at the end of the school year.

Key Club College Scholarships

Our Kiwanis club raises funds for Key Club college scholarships every year through Kids Need Kiwanis Golf Tournament.

Our Kiwanis club supports Key Club service projects, facilitate the Key Club meetings, provide mentorships and provide college scholarships for the Key Club students. The students also conduct a Winter Formal each year that raises funds for the Key Club.

Kiwanis Builders Club Sponsor

Our Kiwanis club brings in food and treats and recognizes, supports and encourages the kids, through example, so they feel empowered to do great things in their communities. We support Builders Club service projects, facilitate the Builders Club meetings, provide mentorships. We sponsor the following Kiwanis Builders clubs:

  • T.J. Jones Boys & Girls Club Builders Club

Kiwanis K Kids Sponsor

Pizza, certificates, pens and ice cream coupons! We honor student achievement through their deeds and actions at school. We are currently sponsoring the following Kiwanis K Kids clubs:

  • Stafford Elementary, Abilene Independent School District

Circle K International

Circle K International, CKI, is one of the largest student-led collegiate service organizations with thousands of members on hundreds of campuses across the globe. CKI is committed to developing leaders by offering unique service, leadership and fellowship opportunities that change the world and the lives of our members. The CKI Club at Hardin-Simmons University serves the Abilene Community.
